Reading: This week we will be focusing on interpreting and annotating poetry. Students will be reading poems by Poe, Shakespeare, and Dickinson, and dissecting it for meaning, figurative language, and a deeper overall understanding. Students will start by doing this as a whole group, pairs, and then individually. I will be explaining this month's poetry letter and project. Please ask your students to share both rubrics.
Writing: We will begin Book 3 of WEX, which is creating realistic fiction stories. We will focus on the root -ject during our word root practice.
Social Studies: Students will get their Chapter 14 tests back & will need a parent signature. We will then go right into Chapter 15.
We will practice some math and social studies skills using Socrative.com-- a fun/interactive tool to review concepts.
