Check out this Optical Illusions Page(like we talked about it class, but more!)
Reading: We will work on our November newspaper project. Use this link & create your own newspaper using the facts you learned from your nonfiction books. You will get 2 sessions to work on it in class, and the rest will be completed independently.
We will be using Comprehension Toolkit strategies to ask questions as we read using a complex text related to Social Studies, George vs. George: The American Revolution as Seen From Both Sides . We will also be doing a study on Author's craft for the next three weeks, where students will be reading a novel of their choice with a small group. They will be responsible for mapping out their reading for the next three weeks, as well as completing a weekly assignment based on their discussions.
The genre for this month is FREE CHOICE! Read a book of your choice & write a letter using this template. You will then share your letter with a partner in class & respond to each other in letter form. Use this template to write back to your buddy.
